Choosing a Collection and Design
- Would I like to wear my jewellery daily or for special occasions?
Some daily wear collections to look at would be: Gemstone Collections, Generic Venetian Beads, Swarovski Crosses and our Clear Glass Hearts. Special occasions are very well suited to our Swarovski Collections, Venetian Collection, Large Glass Pendants and Shells with crystal detail.
- Do I want it to be understated or dramatic?
For a casual feel, you may want to browse our Shell Collection or the Gemstone Collection. Our most dramatic and best selling pieces are the large Glass Pendants worn on a V-neck Choker, the Dichroic Collection and the large pendants found in the Venetian Collection.
Choosing a Colour
- Would I like my choice to match with a particular colour I wear often, or to match a particular outfit?
This should provide you with a starting point of which colours to keep an eye out for while browsing. But do remember that many of the designs on this website can be tailored for you in many different colours and combinations of colours, which you can choose while placing your order using the colour charts provided.
Choosing Pendant Size and Length of Chain
- What type of neckline do I usually wear?
Dependant upon your answer to the this question, you will need to consider whether you would like to wear your necklace short - with a high neckline top, or a longer length necklace - to compliment a low-cut or v-neck top.
Although you may assume that large pendants are unflattering for a smaller build, and small pendants would be lost on someone with a larger build we have found that this is not the case, and the most important factor is that you feel comfortable in your jewellery, and it complements your outfit.
As a general rule shorter necklaces accentuate the beauty of your neck and shoulders, whereas longer necklaces accentuate the bust area.
A good way to gauge the length of chain you would like to order is to use a piece of string, and then measure it once you are happy with the length achieved: remember to allow for the length of the pendant to hang from the chain.
Choosing Earring Style and Length
Face shape and hairstyle will influence which earring style suits you. Below are some things to consider:
Long hair can hide small discreet earrings and you can afford to go for something long and dramatic, although be careful if you have a short neck as anything too long will emphasise this. Similarly, over large earrings with a short haircut can look unbalanced unless you are going for a dramatic look.
Consider the necklace you will be wearing and balance the earrings. A bold and large statement necklace may require more discreet minimal earrings, whereas if your necklace is understated then the earrings can take centre stage.
Choosing a Bracelet
Bracelets are an extra accessory that can compliment and add to your other jewellery or outfit. Chunky shell bracelets make larger wrists appear smaller, where as charm bracelets compliment delicate small wrists.
