How To Use This Website

With The Jewellery Tailors you are in control of every choice you make - buying your jewellery from us will enable you to make the choices that are normally taken away from you when shopping on the high street. How many times have you seen a pendant in blue only to wish you could have it another colour to match the top you bought last week, or would the earrings you have fallen in love with look so much better on you if they were shorter/longer? We don’t even restrict the necklace type and length – do you prefer a longer necklace or do you like to wear chokers? All of these choices are yours, and by making these personal choices you even get to choose the price you pay!

We want you to get the most out of our website so please be inquisitive and interact with it, don’t be scared it wont break, and you wont have confirmed an order until you have entered your credit card details. The information below will also give you a helping hand to make sure that you are able to make full use of all of the features and choices available to you here at The Jewellery Tailors.

As well as this Help and Advice section you will also have access to other help via our FAQ Section (Frequently Asked Questions) and Useful Info sections, both of which can be accessed using the links at the top of any page. You can also access the Useful Info from the Home Page on the right-hand side, which includes Bead Descriptions, Gemstone Information, Colour Charts, Cord and Chain Types and Jewellery Care. All of these sections should help you make an informed decision on your jewellery choice.

Placing an Order

Shop Online - Selecting a category is the first place to start in acquiring that special piece of jewellery, whether it be a necklace, bracelet or a pair of earrings etc. You can navigate between these categories at any stage by using the links on the products line towards the top of every page. Once you have made this selection you will be taken through to `Choose a Collection’.

Collection Choice - Each collection is different and the description will give you a feel of what you will find within each one. Click on the picture or collection name of your choice to find out what designs we offer within each range.

Design Choice - Within each collection you will find a selection of designs to choose from.

There will usually be two different images for each design - hover over the picture to see an alternate image. The most important thing for you to remember is that with many designs you will be able to select from a larger choice of colours other than just the ones photographed.

Remember that some designs may also be available within different collections. You can select `Design Gallery’ from the Shop Online section to see some examples of this.

Prices - At this stage you will see a `Price as Shown’ and `Prices from’ for each design. This is because YOU get to choose the price you pay based on what you wear the pendant on, the size of the pendant, or even how long you have the earrings. The `Prices from’ will always show the lowest price available for the pendant or earrings shown. The `Price as Shown’ will be for the photographed item (main photo) including the cord/chain/choker where applicable.

For example - A Large Cloud within the Glass Pendant Collection may be shown on a Choker @ £44.95 but `Prices From’ will be £27.95 because, once you have gone into the Colour and Detail page you can select a smaller sized pendant which can go on a cord thus reducing the price from £44.95 to £27.95

Once you have chosen a design that you like click on the photo to take you through to the Colour and Detail Page. Here you will find a more detailed description of the item and be able to make your personal choices from any of the applicable tailoring options.

Colour and Detail - Now this is the fun bit! Time to get creative and choose your bead/crystal colours and cord or chain type and even the length of your earrings where applicable. Depending on the design and item selected, any tailoring options available to you will now show on this page.

Readymade Designs - Where a perfect colour match is needed we have added the best colour options and you will just need to choose your favourite as numbered on the pictures. Where applicable you can still select any Cord/Chain type for the pendant, or Earring length and hook/stud in the case of earrings.

Tailor-make your own designs - These designs allow you to use our tailoring options to the full. You will have complete control over the colour and tailoring options to enable you to personalise your chosen piece. To help with your selection of colour or cord/chain type etc, please use the colour and info charts that will show on the right-hand side of this page (click on the title to see the relevant chart or photo)

How do I choose the price I pay? - With all of our necklaces and some earrings you will be able to adjust the price depending on your selection of cord or chain type, or earring design/length. Any price adjustments + or - (from the `Price as Shown’) will show in the drop down boxes and will be calculated in full once you click Buy Now and add the item to your basket.

Photos - On this page we have given you the opportunity to see both photos of the item selected in more detail. All you need to do is hover over the picture to change the image back and forth and then click on the photo you wish to see in more detail to enlarge it.

Related Items - Where applicable we have shown you any related items you may be interested in. This may be the same design from a different collection, or maybe a matching bracelet or pair of earrings for your chosen pendant for example. All you need to do is click on the photo to take you through for more details. Remember, when applicable the photo you see may be tailored in different colours.

Shopping Basket - Your shopping basket will show all of the options you have chosen ready for us to tailor for you. (Remember - If you have selected a `Tailor-make your own’ item the photo shown will just be of the example). Please check your selections before continuing. At this point you can `Continue Shopping’ - this button will take you back to the Colour and Detail page so that you can look at the related items, or at any time you can choose a category from the products line at the top of the page, or you can select `Go To Checkout’.

You can check your basket at any time by clicking on `My Basket’ on the right hand side of any page.

Checkout - Once you have finished choosing your items you can go to the checkout – at this point you will need to login or register so that we can gather all the information needed to complete your order. As an account holder you will benefit from access to a` Wish list’, `Gift Reminder Service’, a saved shopping basket, and you can even check the status and history of any order. Registering with us will not mean that you will suddenly get bombarded with emails as you can choose to opt in or out of any further emails, but we do recommend that you opt in for this service so that we can keep you up to date with any new items added and special offers we may have. Once you have done this please select your preferred postage method and choose either your existing delivery address or enter an alternative delivery address.

Once you have confirmed the delivery address you want us to use you will be taken to the review order and payment screen. Please note that this is the last time you will be able to check your order. Any Gift or Discount Voucher numbers must be entered here to get the new total price.

You can add any comments or questions relating to your order in the box provided before entering your credit card details to be cleared using our secure online payment system.

What happens to my order now? - Congratulations, you have now successfully completed your order. You will receive an email to confirm receipt of your order. Follow up emails will keep you up to date with all stages of your order, including notification of despatch of your item, so that you can look forward to your delivery. We hope that you have enjoyed The Jewellery Tailors experience of customising your chosen design as much as we will enjoy making it for you, and hope that you will be more than pleased to recommend us to your friends.

Buying for a friend: Even if you are not registered with The Jewellery Tailors you may still view a friends wish list by entering their wish list number in the box provided. Remember, when buying from someone else’s wish list you will have the advantage, with many items, of selecting the price you want to pay depending on the selection of cord or chain type or earring length for example. Do also remember that if the item can be tailored in different colours that you will need to find out their preferred colour choice.

Create your own personal wishlist: To do this you need to register your details, or login if already registered, and then you can add items from the `Colour and Detail’ pages (click the `Add to Wish List’ button under the photo). Once you have a few items in your wish list you can move them up and down the list using the arrows on the right – this way you can put your favourite items to the top of the list. Your personal wish list number will show in the top right hand corner, this is the number you will need to give to family and friends to view your wish list. Remember that if someone is buying from your wish list then they will have the advantage, with many items, to select the price they pay depending on their selection of cord or chain type or earring length for example. Do also remember that if the item can be tailored in different colours that you will need to let them know your preference.

Gift Reminder Service Our Gift Reminder Service is a simple way for you to ensure you don’t miss that all important birthday or anniversary. Firstly you will need to register your details, or login if already registered, then click on the `Gift Reminder Service’ box on the home page. Enter the information required and we will send you an email, including the relevant notes, before the event as requested to give you time to get that special gift.
